BlogKera-Coat’s Success in fouling and corrosion resistance was presented in the last IRRC Waste to Energy Conference in Vienna

Last 18 & 19 September, CNIM (Eddie Marcarian, Head of Boilers and Combustion) and Zabalgarbi Plant (Mr Goikoetxea, Head of Operation and  R&D) presented the outstanding result of the Kera-Coat Ceramic coatings applied by Tubacoat over Tubacex A 310 tubes placed in the Superheater  with fumes over 850ºC and metal temperature of around 460ºC.

After 3 years of full service: 33000 hours, the tubes were clean and shining. Neither ashes were sticked nor the ceramic lost a single micron on thickness from corrosion or abrasion.
Neighbouring tubes on 16 Mo3 with 2’5 mm of inconell welded cladding were both “ash coated” and showing corrosion.
